On December 7, 2022, Regina City Council approved amendments to Bylaw 9566 (the Bylaw) which governs the Regina Civic Employees’ Long Term Disability Plan.  The amendment to Section 9.12 (1), a repeal and substitution of language in Section 10.1, and the addition of Section 12.4 were agreed to by both the City and the Pension and Benefits Committee in accordance with Section 12 of the Bylaw.

Amendments were necessary for the Plan to become an Employee Health and Welfare Trust - thus allowing it to maintain its tax favourable status - in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
